About boreen
boreen.io is a platform for organisations and creators who want to sell experiences online. It combines three products: GPS-guided digital tours that run in the browser as an installable progressive web app (with live location, indoor floorplans, multi-language content and offline media), branded online courses (with streaming video, lessons with questions the course owner reviews, progress tracking and passwordless login), and bookable events (with one-off or recurring timeslots, multiple ticket types, group sizes, waiting queues and cancellation policies). Everything is sold through one hosted checkout in the seller's own branding and language, supporting Stripe and Mollie payments, discount codes, gift vouchers, VAT per product, cross-selling and an embeddable booking widget for the seller's own website.

Description
The platform is a multi-tenant system built as a monorepo with a shared backend and several frontends. The backend is an ASP.NET Core (.NET 8) API using event sourcing & CQRS on top of PostgreSQL with Marten, with Wolverine as the message bus and each feature implemented as a vertical slice (command, validator & handler). Identity is handled by OpenIddict, payments by Stripe & Mollie, emails are generated with MJML and invoices & vouchers with QuestPDF, while course videos are transcoded with ffmpeg for HLS streaming. On the front-end there is a backoffice for sellers, a customer portal with the checkout, a progressive web app for the digital tours, a course platform and a marketing website, all built with React, NextJS & Tailwind CSS, plus an embeddable booking widget built with Lit web components. Everything runs in containers on Azure Container Apps, deployed using Azure DevOps pipelines.
